THE MULTIFACETED Mike Jackson, Star of HGTV’s hit show “Married To Real Estate,” builder, realtor, entrepreneur, and overall creative.
Mike grew up in Hempstead Long Island with a love and passion for woodworking, art, music and creative projects. A true renaissance man.
When it comes to building, renovating and fixing, Mike got his start as a teenager while assisting on projects with his grandfather and uncle’s construction business. As an adult Mike advanced his skills by attending and graduating from a Sheetmetal/HVAC, ducting trade school in New York City. From there he went on to become a contractor, and now owns his own construction & referral company, Jackson Draper Renovations LLC.
Mike is a devoted husband and father of three girls. He met his wife and business partner Egypt Sherrod in the mist of his career as a professional DJ, while she was a popular radio personality.
Mike, aka the versatile DJ Fadelf, has been traveling the world for years as a professional, award winning, celebrity DJ. It wasn’t until years later, after crossing each others paths a few times that Mike and Egypt started dating. The deal was sealed when Mike’s construction company was called over to fix one of Egypt’s houses she was flipping. Instantly, it was a love connection.
Mike loves building things from scratch and working with his hands. He’s made appearances on HGTV’s “Flipping Virgins,” assisting Egypt on renovations. He’s also appeared as a judge on season 2 of HGTV’s hit show “Rock the Block,” and along with his wife, competed and became the winners of “Rock the Block” season 3. The two also returned to season 4 as the finale judges. Mike has also made appearances and cameos in a handful of scripted TV opportunities.
